Colorado Event Radar

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 1, 2026

Colorado Event Radar (“we,” “us,” or “the site”) helps residents and visitors discover verified public events in Colorado. This policy explains what information may be processed when you use coloradoeventradar.com, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

Information we process

You can browse the site without creating an account. Our hosting, security, caching, and content-delivery providers may automatically process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, including IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, timestamps, referrer information, error logs, and security signals.

If you email us, we receive the address you use, your message, and any event information or files you voluntarily provide. We use submission information to review, verify, publish, correct, or respond to event listings. Please do not send sensitive personal information.

Accounts, college verification, and communications

When you apply for or create a student, artist, performer, venue, or related account, we collect the information you submit, which may include your name, email address, phone number, Colorado city and ZIP code, college or university, account type, venue or artist details, website and social links, and application or approval status.

For free college accounts, we use the domain of the .edu address and a one-time verification link to confirm control of that inbox and connect the account to an appropriate college event view. We store a protected verification-token hash, its expiration, and the verification timestamp; we do not request grades, class schedules, or access to the contents of the college email account.

Marketing email is optional. The mailing-list checkbox is separate from account creation or approval, and we record the choice, source, and timestamp. Transactional messages needed to verify an email, review an application, provide account access, confirm a purchase, or respond to a request may still be sent. Marketing consent may be withdrawn through an unsubscribe link or by contacting us.

When a signed-in account uses the site, we may associate first-party page visits, approved event or show activity, account status, and purchase totals with that account so the account holder can receive relevant service features and the site owner can operate private analytics, customer support, fraud prevention, and financial reporting. Raw payment-card details are handled by the payment processor and are not stored by Colorado Event Radar.

Location and the Event Radar

The Radar can request your approximate or precise device location only after you press “Use my location” and approve the browser permission. The coordinates are used in your browser to calculate distance and sort nearby events. Colorado Event Radar does not intentionally store those coordinates on its server. You can deny or revoke location access through your browser settings and continue using the statewide map.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

The site may use essential cookies or local storage for security, site operation, consent preferences, and fraud prevention. With the appropriate consent where required, we may also use Google Site Kit, Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and related Google services to understand site use, measure performance, prevent invalid traffic, and display personalized, non-personalized, or limited advertising.

Google and its advertising partners may use first-party or third-party cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, device information, and similar technologies to deliver, measure, personalize, limit, or protect advertising. Ad-related cookies may be associated with Google domains, including google.com, or DoubleClick domains. You can learn more from Google’s explanation of how it uses information from sites that use its services and manage personalization through Google Ads Settings.

Where required, a consent banner will allow visitors to accept, reject, or manage optional categories before optional advertising or analytics storage is used. You can revisit available choices through the site’s Cookie & Privacy Choices link.

We do not sell personal information for money. Some privacy laws define targeted advertising disclosures as “sharing.” Where applicable, the consent and privacy controls on the site will provide available opt-out choices.

Retention and security

We retain information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including maintaining active accounts and accurate consent records, responding to communications, providing purchased services, meeting tax and other legal obligations, resolving disputes, preventing abuse, and protecting the site. Account and contact data may be deleted or anonymized after a verified request when it is no longer required for those purposes; limited consent, transaction, security, and backup records may be retained when reasonably necessary to document compliance or meet legal obligations. No internet service can promise absolute security, but we use HTTPS, WordPress access controls and password hashing, restricted owner views, and reasonable administrative and technical safeguards.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or information about certain processing, and to withdraw consent or opt out of certain advertising uses. To make a request, email submissions@coloradoeventradar.com. We may need to verify the request before acting. You may also control cookies, location, and storage through your browser and use the site’s privacy controls where available.
