Talkback & Reception Thursday, Oct. 1, 5–6:30 p.m. Following the afternoon performance of David Mamet's Oleanna, continue the conversation during a talkback moderated by Colorado College President Manya Whitaker, with refreshments and light hors d’oeuvres. David Mamet’sOleannais an uncomfortably relevant play exploring gender, authority, power, and education through a series of increasingly fraught conversations between a university professor and his student. Written in 1992 in response to the Anita Hill–Clarence Thomas hearings, the play examines what happens when assumptions, personal biases, and failures of communication turn differences into divisions.
