Hiraeth

TICKETS Hiraeth (n., Welsh) — a deep and wistful, nostalgic sense of longing for home; a home that is no longer, or perhaps never was. What if we were the authors of our lives? In this solo memoir-theater piece, performer and storyteller Steve Oskard imagines a life designed before we were born — nothing random, a series of lessons on love. Structured around a recurring, irreverent dialogue with God, Steve traces real stories from his life, moving between stand-up timing and eulogy-level intimacy to ask its audience the same question he’s asking himself: not “why did this happen to me,” but “why did I create this?” Funny, devastating, and ultimately an argument for hope, this is Steve’s solo show debut, drawing on six decades of lived material. Hiraeth is scheduled at Dairy Arts Center in Boulder on Friday, October 23, 2026 at 7:30 pm.
